• Personals Charles Splater & Frank Lambkealer of this county left Tuesday for the eastern part of Kentucky to buy timber. They will most likely visit the noted Breathitt County. Tell City News, Apr. 2, 1904.
• Briar Patch: The Harpenau & Hilgenhold saw mill is about through with their sets near here and will move to George Schneider’s. Tell City News, Apr. 22, 1905.
• Briar Patch: Herman Bockhold has the Hilgenhold & Harpenau saw mill sawing him iut a house pattern as Herman intends to build a house before long. Tell City News, Dec. 9, 1905.
• Briar Patch: Saw mills will soon set at H. Bauer’s and George Poester’s so it is said. Tell City News, Jan. 13, 1906.
• Briar Patchs There will be about 5000 staves made on the F. Lincoln land from about 18 trees. They are to be hauled to Troy in the rough. Tell City News, Feb. 3, 1906.

• Troy: Charles W. Splater brought a barge load of lumber out of Anderson river last week. It was consigned to the Chair Makers Union & Southwestern Furniture Company at Tell City. Tell City News, Mar. 14, 1908.
• Troy: Charles Splater delivered a barge load of beech lumber to Tell City factories Thursday. The little steamer Alma towed it up from Troy. Tell City News, Mar. 28, 1908.
• Ranger, Mr. Casper Hagedorn’s saw mill is located near here on Mr. Daniel Gayer’s farm. Lanman Bros. mill is also doing some sawing near here. Tell City News, Dec. 5, 1908.
• Briar Patch: William Lincoln has been killed out west by a saw log rolling on him. His aged parents, Mr. & Mrs. Francis H. Lincoln are indeed entitled to sympathy. Will are a good hearted fellow & their only son. Tell City News, Sept. 25, 1909.
