• Anderson Valley: Splater & Eberhart are having a lot of saw logs banded near the Dardin Mill. Lutgring brothers are doing the work. Tell City News, Nov. 16, 1901.
• Anderson Valley: There are over one thousand – five hundred saw logs on the banks of the creek near Prospero waiting for the back water. owned by Splater & Co. of Troy and Fenn & Zoercher of Tell City. News, Jan. 25, 1902.
• Briar Patch: Eberhart & Splater had a crew of hands on the creek recently getting out saw logs. Tell City news, Mar. 15, 1902.

• Gatchel: Forest fires have been raging in this neighborhood for the last week.

• Anderson Valley: At this writing the back water is rising rapidly. Some are expecting a flood equal to that of ’84. The lumber and tie men are taking advantage of it & are rafting logs and ties and floating them to Troy.
• Anderson Valley: Eberhart & Splater will bring a barge up the Middle Fork to their saw mill on Lafe Taylor’s and load it with lumber. The roads are so bad it can’t be hauled. Tell City News, Feb. 21, 1903.

• Anderson Valley: Harmon Thies has moved his saw mill fron the Coultas land to the Joe Deem near Ranger. Tell City News, May 9, 1903.
• Anderson Valley: Eberhart & Splater have an army of men at work making staves and ties on the Gayer Farm near Prospero. There will be enough staves made from this track of timber to barrel all the booze that will be used in the next campaign. Tell City News, Fri., Jan. 9, 1904.
