• News: 500 loge broke loose for Brenner & Gilles Thursday evening about six o’clock. About 20 were lost, while the rest are scattered between here and Troy. Tell City News, May 27, 1893.
• Anderson Valley: Tom Anderson is cutting saw logs for Rudolph & Kempin. Tell City News, Jun. 3, 1893.
• Ranger: Railroad ties & staves. Tell City News, Jun. 17, 1893.
• Leopold: The backwater is up Oil creek to within a mile of Branchville and the timber dealers are happy. C.F. James is rafting railroad ties. There is more good timber to be had in this locality. Tell City News, Mar. 18, 1899.
• Bristow: Several young men of this vicinity have gone to Spencer County to work in the stave woods for C.W. Splater. Tell City News, Mar. 25, 1899.
• Leopold: Charles James has taken part of his ties down the creek and is preparing to run some more before the water goes down.
• John Asbrook has sold his farm on Anderson to the Eberhart & Splater for $6500. John will move to Illinois, where he thinks he can do better. Tell City News, Apr. 8, 1899.
• Apalona: William Cassidy is about done yarding his staves on Frank Paul’s land. Tell City News, Jun. 3, 1899.

• Briar Patch: The horse bucker has about 25,000 more staves to buck on the Asbrook place. There will be about 2000 saw logs, about two thirds of which are hauled. Tell City News, Nov. 25, 1899.
